Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says he expects Alexandre Lacazette to score lots of goals for the Gunners.
Alexandre Lacazette took only 94 seconds to open his scoring account for Arsenal, as the Gunners got off to a flying start with a pulsating 4-3 win over Leicester City on their opening 2017/18 Premier League match.
He has been a prolific goal scorer during his time at Lyon, and Henry expects him to become a major hit at Arsenal as well.
Henry was full of praise for his compatriot, and summed up his feelings for him in three words – “I like him.”
The Arsenal legend says that Lacazette is “very neat, very clean” in whatever he does, but will take time for Arsenal to supply him with the right service.
Lacazette is known for his pace and movement, and Henry reckons that the Gunners should learn to play according to his strengths.
Towards the end, the former Lyon forward was shifted out to the left against Leicester to accommodate match-winner Olivier Giroud, but Henry says Lacazette will continue playing as a centre forward in the long run.
“I like him,” Henry told Monday Night Football. “His overall play is on point. Obviously he is going to have to score goals and goals and goals to get the crowd going, but the way he has started is very good for me.
“The most important thing is that he does score goals. Obviously I am going to be biased because he is French and he plays for Arsenal but I like his overall play. Very neat, very clean, he does whatever the game is asking him to do.”
“I think Lacazette is going to play in the centre. That is where I would like to see him play. Giroud can offer a lot and he showed that but I would love to see the partnership that Sanchez and Lacazette can create.”
