Pundit Thierry Henry has told Sky Sports that he felt Heung-min Son was ‘incredible’ against Sunderland on Sunday, and deserves to start regularly having proven his worth after transfer speculation.

Tottenham picked up a third win from five Premier League games on Sunday, as Harry Kane’s second half winning goal handed them a 1-0 win over struggling Sunderland.

Whilst Kane grabbed the headlines with the winning goal, the man of the match was undoubtedly winger Heung-min Son, who terrorised Sunderland throughout.

The South Korean wide man, 24, made his first Premier League appearance of the season last weekend with a two-goal performance in the 4-0 win over Stoke City, but couldn’t follow that up against Monaco in midweek as he was substituted at half time.

Mauricio Pochettino handed Son another chance to impress as Spurs took on Sunderland, and he repaid the Argentinian with a superb performance against the Black Cats.

Stationed on the left wing, Son ran Sunderland ragged throughout, and not only hit the post but also created chances for his team-mates in an excellent performance.

After the game, Arsenal legend and current pundit Thierry Henry told Sky Sports that he though Son was ‘incredible’ for Tottenham, and destroyed Sunderland full back Jason Denayer.

The Frenchman added that he thought Son would be leaving Tottenham over the summer after speculation linked him with an exit, but now deserves to be in the Spurs team after his recent performances.

“He was incredible today,” said Henry. “He put a couple of great crosses into the box and he should have had an assist if people went to meet his ball. He did not also score, but other than that I thought he destroyed Jason Denayer on the side, or whoever was in his zone.”

“He looked like it [to be leaving Spurs in the summer]. But I think after what he has been doing, especially against Stoke the other week, and now he is showing that he deserves to play in that team,” he added.
