Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois celebrates after the match
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has admitted that he would love to see his national teammate Romelu Lukaku joining him at the London club next season.
Lukaku has enjoyed a superb 2016/17 campaign for Everton, where he racked up 25 goals for the Blues.
He has expressed his desire to play for a Champions League club, and has been linked with a switch away from Goodison Park.
If the widespread reports are to be believed, Chelsea are interested in signing their former player, but could face a strong competition from their rivals, Manchester United.
Everton’s Romelu Lukaku
Courtois, 25, has hailed Lukaku as a ‘great player,’ and claimed he would love to see his compatriot joining Chelsea this summer.
“Romelu is a great player so if he decides to go to Chelsea or Chelsea decide to sign him I would be happy to see him in the dressing room in July,” said Courtois, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“I guess if it’s the right offer he might go. It’s up to him to decide.”

Lukaku became the first player since Gary Lineker in 1986 to get over 20 League goals in a season. Everton are aware of Lukaku’s lofty ambition; nevertheless, they are not willing to let him go cheap. Any potential club will have to pay a massive £100 million (Daily Star) to secure the 24-year-old’s signature.
Last week, Chelsea star Eden Hazard joked regarding Lukaku’s potential arrival from Goodison Park, saying there won’t be enough money left to sign the Belgian striker if he pens a new deal with the London club.
