Thiago Alcantara has posted that he is now ‘back on track’ after making his comeback for Liverpool last night.
Thiago’s impact at Liverpool has been limited since his arrival from Bayern Munich this summer, as he has struggled to stay fit.
The Spaniard has been sidelined for a lengthy period of time, after a fierce challenge on him from Richarlison in the Merseyside derby.
But he did manage to make it back on to the pitch for Liverpool last night.
Although Thiago wasn’t able to help the Reds bring back the three points from Tyneside, he was still delighted to get back onto the pitch, and sent a 10-word message on social media afterwards.
He wrote: “Back on track. Time to move on. Up the reds!”
Despite his lengthy absence Thiago quickly showed his class for Liverpool last night.
The experienced midfielder’s passing range forge a couple of opportunities for his teammates in his brief time on the pitch, and if the Reds had been more clinical, they may actually have taken home the three points.
Liverpool are next in action against Southampton, when Thiago could well have a chance of starting, if he can prove his fitness over the week.
