Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta has told Goal that he believes Arsenal are a level above rivals, Chelsea.

The French champions are set to take on Arsene Wenger’s side in the Champions League on Tuesday after the two were drawn in the same group.

They have a good record against English teams in the competition, notably Chelsea, having beaten them in the quarter-finals last year and enjoying victories in their last four meetings with the Blues.

The Gunners will be looking to end that run of success at the Parc des Princes to get their European season started in the perfect manner.

And Motta says he believes they will provide a tougher test than their London rivals.

“Arsenal are a level above Chelsea because they like to play. We’ve not faced an English team like that,” Goal reports him saying.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal can prove that they are on a different level to Chelsea on Tuesday.

A win in France would certainly be impressive from them and get their Champions League campaign off to a perfect start.

That is something they desperately need, especially after the manner in which they almost made a complete mess of the group stages last season.
