Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Thiago and Naby Keita will not play against Brentford this weekend, as quoted in The Liverpool Echo.

Midfielders Thiago and Keita are injured at the moment, and the Liverpool players will not feature against Brentford in the Premier League.

The match will be held at Brentford on Saturday evening.

Klopp has said that Thiago is unlikely to play before the international break in October, while Keita will not feature against Brentford and could be out even longer.

The Liverpool Echo quotes Klopp as about Thiago: ”It’s not 100% clear. It’s a muscle in the calf. It’s an issue, obviously.

“After the international break probably. I don’t think it would be anything earlier.”

Klopp said about Keita: “Nothing serious but it keeps him out of Brentford, for sure. A little longer maybe, we will see.

“It’s painful and we have to see how he deals with it. Not cool. A good pre-season and played a lot of games but it happens.”

Disappointing

Both Thiago and Keita have had injury problems at Liverpool, and it will be bitterly disappointing for the two players.

It will be especially hard for Keita, who has been showing glimpses of his talent this season.

The Liverpool no.8 has scored one goal in four Premier League appearances, and made one appearance each in the Champions League and the Carabao Cup so far this season.

Keita has scored five goals in 57 Premier League matches for Liverpool so far in his career.

The midfielder cost Liverpool £48 million in transfer fee, as reported by BBC Sport.
