Gabby Agbonlahor has delivered quite a brutal assessment of Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes.

The Reds have picked up seven points from a possible nine this season but they could and probably should have a 100 percent record.

This past Saturday, Liverpool drew 1-1 with Chelsea but Jurgen Klopp will think of it as two dropped points due to the fact that they faced 10 men for precisely half the game at Anfield.

Despite going into last season as reigning Premier League champions, Klopp’s side finished a massive 17 points behind Manchester City in the end.

And even though the German manager has Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez back this season, three long-term absentees which allowed City to take Liverpool’s title so effortlessly last time around, Agbonlahor has told talkSPORT that in his estimation, the Reds still have ‘no chance’ of going all the way this season, claiming they’ll finish fourth.

He said: “As the guy who came on and gave us the odds said, he put liverpool as fourth with the bookies [regarding the title]. I think Liverpool will finish fourth. They’ve got no chance of winning the league.”

Accurate?

Well, no.

You can’t possibly say that Liverpool have ‘no chance’ of winning the Premier League title.

Yes they have lost Gini Wijnaldum, a big player in Klopp’s midfield, but this is a squad that has won major honours – including the Champions League – and that’s massive.

What’s also huge is the fact that Klopp has three of his best centre-backs available again, not to mention the new signing of Ibrahima Konate.

It’s true that they could’ve probably done more business in the summer, enhancing their chances of reclaiming their title, but it’s also true that the squad as it is is very dangerous and just ask Chelsea or Manchester City if they think that the Merseysiders are destined to be also-rans.
