Jamie Carragher has stated that he is backing Arsenal to finish in the top four and he does ‘fancy’ them to beat Manchester United nex month, as he stated on Instagram.

Arsenal are one point ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United in the Premier League table, with three games in hand, after both teams won over the weekend.

Mikel Arteta and his players saw past Leicester City on Sunday, whilst Cristiano Ronaldo netted a hat-trick during his side’s 3-2 win against Tottenham.

Arsenal are leading the charge, but they have Man United, West Ham, Wolves and Tottenham on their tails.

Nonetheless, ahead of Arsenal’s home clash against Man United next month, this is the response Carragher provided to Neville regarding the top-four race.

“I will go for Arsenal actually, they have got their games in hand,” said Carragher.

“They have got Man United at home, listen anything can happen. But I fancy Arsenal to win that game.

“I think if they beat Man United at home, with the games in hand that they have got, I think they should cross the line.”

This is a big week for the Gunners and one that could be season-changing for Arteta’s side.

Liverpool will visit the Emirates on Wednesday night, before they travel to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa during the early kick-off on Saturday.

If the Gunners can come through that then it would be a huge boost in their quest to secure Champions League football.

Not forgetting that they still have the rescheduled north London derby against Tottenham coming up.
