Yaya Toure has claimed that Liverpool were ‘lucky’ in certain times of their 1-0 win over West Ham United on Saturday, as he told Premier League Productions.

The Premier League legend added that Manchester City may need to win ‘all of their games’ to win the title ahead of Liverpool.

On Sunday, Pep Guardiola guided his players to a thumping 4-1 win over rivals Manchester United to retain their six-point lead at the top of the table.

But the Reds do have a game in hand, a better goal difference and they are also due to play travel to the Etihad.

Either way, Toure doesn’t think Liverpool are going anywhere soon, as he made a claim about their most recent win.

“Liverpool are doing very, very well,” said Toure. “I saw the game against West Ham, they have been lucky in certain times.

“But they are impressive. A good, good team. I think Man City need to win all their games, if possible, because I don’t see Liverpool dropping points, if I am honest. Chelsea are really far. But Liverpool are a big threat, for me.

After Man City beat Man United: “It’s just brilliant for the fans. Brilliant for the public and the people, who enjoy football. Liverpool and Man City are have been battling themselves for years and years now. It’s nice to see. That’s why people love the Premier League.”

Jurgen Klopp and Guardiola have had some great battles over the years and they are now set to enter yet another defining period for their clubs.

Liverpool are still in with a shout of winning every trophy this season, whilst that’s very unlikely to happen, they will still want one of the big ones – Premier League or Champions League.

Given the attack Klopp can now pick from, including January signing Luis Diaz, it does provide the German with that added spark.

If Diaz continues to shine, then his signing could be the difference between Liverpool winning one trophy this season or multiple.
