Speaking on the Sky Sports Football Podcast, Jamie Redknapp has been waxing-lyrical about some of Tottenham’s transfer business and specifically the signing of Yves Bissouma.
The Malian midfielder joined Spurs earlier this summer in a deal worth £25m, and while he’s yet to make his competitive debut for the north London club, Redknapp is already convinced that he’ll be a brilliant signing.
Indeed, the pundit says that Bissouma will be a fantastic addition, and he can’t wait to watch him under Antonio Conte.
What’s been said?
Redknapp spoke about Bissouma at Spurs.
“They’ve signed good players, in midfield I think Bissouma will be a brilliant signing for them long-term. He didn’t play the other day but he can watch, he can learn, he can find out exactly what Antonio Conte wants as a manager,” Redknapp said.
“The players they’ve signed you have to admire because they’re not typical Tottenham signings, a lot of them are ready to win right now and Tottenham often try to buy for the future, but they’ve been clever and confident in what they’ve done.”
Should be fantastic
On the surface, Bissouma should be a brilliant signing for Tottenham.
The midfielder is already proven at Premier League level, he has bags of ability and he seems to suit the way Spurs are wanting to play.
Of course, some players don’t handle the step up to a club like Spurs very well, so this may not be a guaranteed success, but it would be rather surprising if Bissouma didn’t hit the ground running with his new club.
