Speaking on The Done Deal Show, journalist Dean Jones has shared an update on Arsenal and their interest in Sheffield United’s Aaron Ramsdale.
The Blades’ number one has been linked with Arsenal for some time now, and while reports emerged last week claiming that the trail has gone cold, Jones believes Arsenal are still determined to sign him.
However, Ramsdale is not the priority for Arsenal right now, who, according to the reporter, need a midfielder and a forward through the door.
What’s been said?
Jones shared what he knows about the Ramsdale situation.
“They have still got money to spend. Quite why they are so determined to sign Aaron Ramsdale I’m not entirely sure, but they are. It’s a strange one and I feel sorry for Arsenal fans because they were finally optimistic this summer and it’s all fallen apart on the first day of the season.
“So Ramsdale isn’t as dead as it was made out to be a week or so ago?” The host asked.
“No, no they’re still going to try. Ramsdale still wants the deal to happen, it’s just about finding that breakthrough. It’s not the priority right now, which is the problem for Ramsdale, because they’ve got a good goalkeeper, they want to sign him, but they need to sign a midfielder, and they have to sign a forward. I have doubts about whether or not they’ll do that. I’m told they’re going to make two signings before the window closes, hopefully three.”

Busy few weeks
Arsenal are set for a busy few weeks by the sounds of things.
Martin Odegaard is reportedly close to signing, the Gunners want Aaron Ramsdale, while a new forward and a new right-back could also be added.
As well as new additions, the Gunners need to shift a few players, especially after Fabrizio Romano claimed there are some issues brewing due to the London club’s bloated squad.
