Crystal Palace welcome Everton to Selhurst Park tomorrow.
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson made his prediction for the Premier League game between Crystal Palace and Everton tomorrow, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.
The Toffees will head into the game in fine spirits, after their impressive 4-0 win over Manchester City last week, whilst the hosts are in the midst of a worrying run of form, and are still yet to win a Premier League game since the arrival of Sam Allardyce.
But Merson explained how Selhurst Park is a difficult place to go, when making his prediction for Sky Sports, admitting that the game is a tough one to call:
Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce
“Everton thrashed Man City 4-0 but then the week before they went out of the FA Cup at home to Leicester. When you watched Leicester at home to Chelsea you had to wonder how they’ve beaten anybody. Everton are like a bag of Revels, you just don’t know what you’re going to get. One minute they are brilliant then the next they are shooting themselves in the foot. Despite Palace’s recent problems, Selhurst Park is a difficult place to go, so I’m going for a 1-1 draw.”
Everton manager Ronald Koeman
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Everton
The Eagles are currently just one point and a place outside of the relegation zone, in what must be worrying times for fans of the South London club.
Everton, meanwhile, sit comfortably in seventh position, but it could be argued that their fans are equally as disappointed as the Palace faithful with their season so far, after much was expected following the arrival of Ronald Koeman in the summer.
