Paul Merson has written in SportsKeeda that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool would love to bring Sadio Mane back to Anfield from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.
The former Arsenal star believes that Liverpool are badly missing Mane and need someone like him in their team.
Liverpool sold the Senegalese star to German club Bayern in the summer of 2022.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are really struggling without the £306,000-a-week (SalarySport) star.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are unlikely to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Darwin Nunez is not having the kind of impact that the Anfield faithful would have expected him to.
Liverpool would take back Sadio Mane
Merson wrote: “I’ve been saying it from the start – selling Sadio Mane was a bad decision. If he came up for sale again, they’d buy him back in an instant.
“He was a massive part of that team and he didn’t get the credit he deserved. Liverpool sold one of their best players for hardly any money and it’s coming back to bite them.”

Back to Anfield?
In our view, it is unlikely that Sadio Mane will leave Bayern Munich for Liverpool in the summer of 2023.
Now, Mane himself is not having the best of times at Bayern.
The 30-year-old has scored six goals and given three assists in 14 Bundesliga matches for Bayern so far this season.
The forward has scored three goals and given one assist in six UEFA Champions League matches for the German club so far this campaign.
Moreover, there have been injury problems for Mane.
However, we do not think that Mane will leave Bayern after just one season, especially for Liverpool where he was so successful, winning the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League and scoring goals galore.
That story is finished.
