Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur would love to sign Reece James from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The former Tottenham striker does not rate Spurs right-back/right wing-back Emerson Royal at all.
The talkSPORT pundit believes that Spurs would take 22-year-old England international right-back James from Chelsea to solve their issues in that position.
James is one of the best young right-backs around, but he is not part of the England squad for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar due to injury.

Bent said: “I know exactly who they would take – Reece James because their right-back situation is appalling. Appalling.”
The pundit added: “If you are a Spurs fan, you look at where you team are, Reece James would be the one. Reece James, Trent, Trippier.”
Not happening
In our view, Chelsea are not going to sell Reece James anytime soon – to Tottenham Hotspur or to any other club.
The 22-year-old is going from strength to strength, and he could develop into a world-class player in the coming years.
Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are a global brand, and they do not sell their best players unless they absolutely have to.
Tottenham do need to address their right-back issue, but maybe, just maybe, Emerson Royal could improve and develop under head coach Antonio Conte.
You never know.
Yes, Emerson is not having the best of times at the moment, but he is still only young and has time on his side to grow and develop.
