Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Nobby Solano and Sam Allardyce have been discussing their dream signings for Newcastle and Harry Kane.
The pair were asked which player in world football they’d most like to see at St James’ Park, and Solano named Kane as one of the players he’d most like to see on Tyneside.
Allardyce added that Kane would probably cost about £500m, but he did state his belief that Newcastle would be almost guaranteed a top four if they somehow managed to bring the 29-year-old in.

Kane to Newcastle?
Allardyce and Kane discussed the idea of Kane coming to St James’ Park.
“I’ve got two, well, I’ve been watching and Newcastle with Harry Kane and Son in the black and white,” Solano said.
“Harry Kane, well that would be about £500m, that would be half a billion. They have plenty of cash though. Then they would finish in the Champions League. He’s 29 now and his goals again. He always gets questioned about his ankles and if he’s gone of the boil and all that sort of rubbish,” Allardyce said.
A few years off
Kane would be absolutely exceptional for Newcastle – he would be for any club, but we’re probably a few years off seeing a player like that at St James’ Park.
Indeed, while Newcastle are on the up, this is proving to be a slow and measured process of improvement under PIF, and superstar signings, like Kane, aren’t on the agenda quite yet.
Who knows? Perhaps in a few years’ time this sort of transfer will be possible, but right now, it’s hard to imagine Kane swapping Spurs for Newcastle.
As Allardyce says though. You have to imagine that Newcastle would be able to secure a top four finish if they had Kane in their team.
