Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily Podcast, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has made an interesting prediction about Liverpool amid their current run of poor form.
The Reds are yet to register a league win in 2020, and they’ve just seen their historic 68-game home unbeaten run in the league come to an end as they lost 1-0 to Burnley on Thursday evening.
Fortunately, Fernandes believes that they will come back even stronger.
“No favourites for this game, you know, it’s a different game, it’s a cup game. When I arrived the club was passing some difficult times, the situation in the table wasn’t good and everything and I saw the confidence of the players to want to make it better to want to make it to the top of the table,” Fernandes said.
“Liverpool will be the same, the mentality is there, the players are there, the quality is there. We play against them, we’ve seen how dangerous they can be. I’m sure it doesn’t matter if they lost against Burnley, they will be fighting in the same way and with the same qualities and with the same intensity they have every game against us.
“I think Liverpool, at some time in the league, in the cup or in the Champions League they will come back better, but the main point for me is that they keep losing, until the next game at least.”

This is very interesting to hear, particularly from a Manchester United player.
A United player would rarely be seen talking highly of Liverpool, especially ahead of an FA Cup tie, but Fernandes has no issue giving them the praise they deserve after years of excellence under Jurgen Klopp.
Fernandes clearly thinks Liverpool have enough about them to recover from this slump, much like Manchester United did when Fernandes arrived.
Time will only tell whether or not Fernandes’ prediction about the Reds comes true or not.
