Bournemouth have reportedly seen a £15 million bid for Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott rejected by the Championship side.
This is despite recent interest in the English midfielder from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the Cherries, now managed by former Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola, are believed to be at the front of the long queue to sign the talented 19-year-old.
Tottenham were credited with an interest in the midfielder a few weeks ago according to The Sun, and, in a recent interview with The Guardian, admitted that he was a Spurs fan growing up. But, it is seemingly the South-coast side who are leading the race for the midfielder’s signature.

Bournemouth set to ‘bid again’
Romano further claims that Bournemouth will submit another bid for the midfielder soon and are insisting on the midfielder. The Italian also claims that the Premier League side will not leave the negotiations for the English midfielder.
It is clear to see why Bournemouth, and previously Tottenham, would be interested in Scott. After a stellar season in the Championship, the midfielder, who has one goal and four assists to his name, is a calming presence in the midfield for the Championship side.
Tottenham, West Ham, and Leicester City, amongst others, have all previously been credited with an interest in the midfielder but it seems that Bournemouth are at the front of the pack to try and pull off a real transfer coup. The South Coast club will return to the table with another offer. City, as things stand, are seemingly holding firm with their £25 million valuation for the midfielder.
What may well be a struggle for City is if Bournemouth bid £20 million and that’s their final offer, could a Championship side really turn down that amount of money with financial fair play always a consideration, it seems unlikely.
