Stephen Warnock thinks Arsenal will secure a deadline-day transfer for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo because money talks.

The former Premier League left-back added that Brighton ‘will do the deal’ for the sought-after midfielder, who Mikel Arteta is keen to bring in to provide cover for Thomas Partey.

The 21-year-old has been in outstanding form for European-chasing Brighton this season, and despite not playing one whole season in England’s top-flight, the player is already being tipped for very big things.

When those Arsenal rumours came about, the player himself, in order to force a move, took to social media where he expressed that he wanted to leave.

But those at the Amex Stadium stayed firm, and are still doing so.

Although, in this crazy footballing world, everyone has a price and Warnock thinks the Caicedo deal will still happen, as he told Sky Sports News (30/01/23).

“But Caicedo, if they (Brighton) wanted to do anything, then I am sure they will be thinking ‘at least let us plan for the summer and if we are going to lose him, then we will lose him then’,” said Warnock.

“However, I just think if the money is right, then they will do the deal. I really do.

“For the money that they paid for him, which was next to nothing. I think you are thinking at it and going ‘how do you not sell him?!'”

CAICEDO THE POPULAR CHOICE?

If you asked the Arsenal fans, then Caicedo is probably the player and midfielder they want before Tuesday’s cut-off point.

If Thomas Partey can remain injury-free, from now until the end of the season, then in truth, a defensive-minded player isn’t needed.

But, as the club found out during their FA Cup loss against Manchester City, they simply can’t take any risks with Partey, especially given that they are pushing for the Premier League title.
