Callum Wilson has bitten back at Arsenal fans for their previous treatment of Granit Xhaka after he ‘got stick’ for arguing with the midfielder during Newcastle United’s 2-0 defeat to Mikel Arteta’s men.
Ten days ago, Arsenal beat Eddie Howe’s Newcastle 2-0 at St James’ Park, and after the match, Callum Wilson spoke about the war of words he had with Granit Xhaka during the match.
The 17-goal striker proceeded to tell fans that he couldn’t allow Granit Xhaka to talk to him in such a way because ‘you are from the street’.

Well, those comments seemingly resulted in Arsenal fans firing shots at the 31-year-old.
But he has bitten back and brought up Arsenal supporters previously ‘booing’ Xhaka when he was the club captain under Unai Emery, as he told the Footballer’s Football podcast.
The Newcastle hitman was asked if Arsenal have ‘bottled’ the league, he was reluctant to answer, as he explained why.
“Listen, I am not getting into it too much (about whether Arsenal have bottled the title race),” laughed Wilson.
“These Arsenal fans, it’s difficult for me because, at the end of the day, I am getting stick for arguing with one of their players (Xhaka) and that was a player they were booing themselves, not so long ago.
“I am kind of like, ‘I don’t know whether to say anything or whether not say anything’.
“But as a fan of football,” starts to laugh. “Basically, you would be thoroughly disappointed to not win the league and only end up with the Champions League after finishing the season where they might finish.
“At the end of the day, they have been leading the season for the majority of the season, haven’t they?! So, to throw it away, like they have, they are going to be disappointed. Fans, players and staff.”

XHAKA TO LEAVE ARSENAL?
Well, one thing Arsenal fans can’t deny, is that their relationship, once upon a time, was pretty toxic with Xhaka.
As soon as Arteta walked through the doors in 2019, everyone was expecting Xhaka to walk past him because of that infamous moment against Crystal Palace.
But, fast forward to the present, and he has turned his career around at the Emirates in the most incredible of fashions – even Ian Wright admits that he is now ‘eating humble pie’.
Although, it could now all end because there is talk that he will leave in the summer.
