Phil Hay has written in The Athletic that Victor Orta does not plan to leave Leeds United anytime soon.
The well-known and well-respected journalist, who now works as the Leeds United correspondent for The Athletic, has said thay Leeds Director of Football Orta wants to stay at the club until the Whites are back in Europe.
The journalist has added that Italian club AS Roma were interested in Orta before.
Hay wrote about Orta in The Athletic: “He does have good chemistry with Bielsa. And despite the criticism of him over the years, he’s very well respected by people in the game (even if he’s been ruffling a few feathers with his antics in various directors’ boxes this season).
“Roma were interested and other clubs have been too. A good director of football is worth a great deal. But they tell me that he wants to stay at Leeds until the club break back into Europe.”

Encouraging for Leeds United fans
Orta has been superb in his role at Leeds, and the Spaniard has been key in the club bringing in classy players such as Raphinha and Rodrigo.
The Spaniard staying at Leeds until the club are back in Europe is very encouraging for Leeds fans.
It shows that Orta is very committed to Leeds, and that the club’s bosses are highly ambitious and want the team to be back playing in European football.
Leeds are having a wonderful season in the Premier League and could end up in the top 10.
The Whites are playing wonderful football and have earned praise from neutral fans as well.
