TalkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil says he thinks Antonio Conte will leave Tottenham this summer after Spurs were once again knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship opposition – and says Mauricio Pochettino would love to return.
Conte, 53, was missing from the Spurs dugout once again as he continues to recover after an operation. It saw Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason continue to look after the team – though it is believed that Conte is still picking the starting XI.
Spurs currently sit in fourth place after two successive 2-0 wins over West Ham and Chelsea. They are now four points clear of Newcastle, who have two games in hand. Liverpool are six behind with one game in hand over Tottenham.
So, a place in the top four is very alive. But, the chance of silverware has ended after a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Wednesday night. They remain in the Champions League but they seem unlikely to stand any chance of that trophy.
Is a place in the top four enough to see Conte sign a new Spurs deal? They do of course, have a clause in his contract to extend his deal by 12 months. But, it is unclear if Spurs will want to strike that clause – or if Conte will want to.

TalkSPORT presenter Brazil said he thinks Conte will go and Pochettino wants a return: “I don’t think Antonio Conte will be there next season. I don’t know what is going to happen. They tell me Poch would be straight back in that job.”

It is a tricky one – will Conte leave? The feeling seems to differ every week. The doom and gloom hangs over Spurs when there is a defeat. Especially one that has ended any chance of Spurs winning a trophy this season, the FA Cup.
But having beaten Chelsea and West Ham, positivity was high. They go into a tricky away game at Wolves on the weekend, before facing Milan in the second leg of the Champions League. Two massive games for Spurs’ campaign.
