Many have been debating recently about whether Arsenal’s rising star, Bukayo Saka, is a ‘world-class’ footballer.

When it comes to numbers and performances out on the pitch, he has a lot of examples to back it up, but the fact of the matter is, he still hasn’t won those big trophies for Arsenal.

But one man who is in no doubt that Bukayo Saka is ‘world-class’ is Leroy Rosenior, who lauded his recent display against Newcastle United and actually took it one step further.

Never mind the 22-year-old being of that quality going forward, he thinks, from a defensive aspect, he is ‘world-class’ also, as he told Premier League Productions (26/02/24 at 5:35 pm).

Arsenal have the best defence in the Premier League for a reason and Mikel Arteta has ensured that his players are pressing for their life without the ball.

That’s why in this pulsating three-way title race between Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal, every single minute detail matters.

Two points separate the top three, with Arsenal only conceding 23 goals from their 26 matches, Liverpool shipping an extra two and Manchester City conceding 26.

Forget about the goals, it’s the defence that will win you the Premier League title, and so far, those in north London are leading the way.

Is Bukayo Saka World-Class?

“Just there, the recovery of all the players,” said Rosenior about the defensive side of Arsenal’s game. “The recovery run is amazing.

“Bukayo Saka, you know they talk about him being world-class going that way (attacking), but he is world-class going that way (defending) as well.”

Winning those trophies at Arsenal

The Premier League title is the one Arsenal fans crave the most and the one Saka dreams of winning for his boyhood club.

The Hale-End academy product was still in his nappies when the legendary Arsene Wenger was winning titles at Highbury.

A lot has happened and changed since then, with the club more desperate than ever to become champions of England again.

If they are to do it, then they probably have to win at Manchester City, but also understand that the team might just have to push way beyond their limits and go to the final day to win the main prize.
