Alan Pardew has given his verdict on what the West Ham United board should do about the future of David Moyes.
David Moyes is in charge of West Ham United at the moment. The former Manchester United manager is out of contract at the Hammers at the end of the season.
Some West Ham fans are not happy with Moyes and want him to leave in the summer of 2024. There have been criticisms of West Ham’s performances.
Former West Ham manager Alan Pardew has said that the London club’s board should hand Moyes a new contract.
The talkSPORT pundit does not agree with the West Ham fans who want Moyes gone at the end of the season.
On February 23, Moyes told BBC Sport that West Ham have offered him a new deal, adding that he would wait until the end of the season to decide whether or not to sign it.
Alan Pardew comments on West Ham United manager David Moyes
Pardew said when discussing Moyes’s future on talkSPORT (7:42 pm, March 10, 2024): “West Ham are seventh. They are 1-0 down, right, in the European game, and I think they will turn them over on Thursday actually.
“He is above De Zerbi, Poch, Silva, Thomas Frank, everyone is going, ‘Oh, they are lovely, how they play’. Brighton haven’t won for six games, Brentford haven’t won for a while.

“There they are sitting seventh, West Ham, and above them are Man United, Tottenham, okay Aston Villa, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal. That is probably them top of the league. You could argue they should be above Villa.
“So, stats-wise it doesn’t add up – David Moyes Out. It doesn’t add up to me. You know, this journey that they have been on, they have won the Cup, let’s see where that decision is at the end of the year.
“They should offer him the contract, and, in my opinion, it should be down to David Moyes and whether he feels it is time to move on to a new agenda for himself or to stay at the Hammers.”
My View: David Moyes has been a big success at West Ham United
In my opinion, David Moyes has been a huge success at West Ham United. I think that he is the best manager to take the club forward.
West Ham, who hold an interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil, won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season and could clinch the UEFA Europa League this campaign.
The Hammers are seventh in the Premier League table at the moment. The London club, who are scouting Sporting Lisbon forward Pedro Goncalves, are above the likes of Newcastle United and Chelsea and are only four points behind Manchester United.
What more could Moyes do at West Ham? Perhaps the Hammers could play with a bit more finesse and be more expansive, but there is no guarantee that a new manager would be able to bring that and be successful in terms of winning trophies and competing for the European places.
