Darren Bent feels Jesse Marsch only has Leeds United’s next two Premier League games to avoid the sack. The Whites visit Liverpool on Saturday before they host AFC Bournemouth.
Leeds head to Anfield after entering the weekend inside the relegation zone on nine points after 11 games. Marsch has only managed to oversee two wins and three draws so far this term. The Elland Road outfit have also not won in their last eight top-flight fixtures, either.

A resounding performance to beat Chelsea 3-0 on August 21 remains Leeds’ last win of the season so far. They have since fallen to six defeats – including four in their last four fixtures – while scoring just six goals in eight games. The Whites have also shipped 15 of 18 goals.
Marsch is now coming under pressure to remain in the dugout if the American is unable to turn things around. Leeds hired the 48-year-old to replace Marcelo Bielsa in February on a three-and-a-half-year contract. He arrived just one day after the Whites had sacked Bielsa.
A trip to Liverpool put the writing on the wall for Bielsa’s departure from Elland Road. The Reds ran riot as Jurgen Klopp’s side picked the Argentine’s man-to-man approach to pieces to win 6-0. A 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur then marked Bielsa’s final match in charge.

Bent fears Marsch is now only two games from Leeds sacking the American. They travel to Liverpool on Saturday 18th in the table with only goal difference separating them, Wolves and Nottingham Forest in the relegation zone. Bournemouth visit Elland Road next week.
“If they get beat at Liverpool, which I think they could do, if they get beaten by Bournemouth with that big gap of the World Cup coming up, I think they’ll move on from him,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“If they don’t get three points from those games, he’ll get the sack. They need to beat Bournemouth.”
The Premier League hits pause after Leeds visit Tottenham on November 12 for the World Cup in Qatar. The Whites also travel to Wolves on November 9 after hosting Bournemouth next Saturday. It is their only home match before the World Cup, so possibly Marsch’s last.
That is if Leeds sack Marsch as Bent fears if they lose to Liverpool this Saturday and to the Cherries. The West Yorkshire outfit comes out of the World Cup break on December 28 at home to Manchester City. A trip to Newcastle United on December 31 rounds off the year.
