In terms of Newcastle United signings, well there’s nothing new to report.
Matt Targett, Nick Pope and Sven Botman remain the only senior players to have joined the Magpies this summer.
But with under two weeks left in the transfer window, there’s time for Newcastle to sign the striker that they’ve been chasing all summer.
It remains to be seen precisely who the St James’s Park outfit sign as competition for Callum WIlson and Chris Wood.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that not only do Newcastle intend on signing a number nine, but manager Eddie Howe and Saudi Public Investment Fund could also bring in an additional attacking player, too.
He told Give Me Sport: “I was always told at the beginning of the window that Newcastle would be quite quiet. But, if they were going to add two more, they would be looking for a striker to support Callum Wilson and an attack-minded player. Newcastle’s interest in Broja is no secret and I was also told that they might even buy one and loan one.”

Signing not one, but two attackers would really polish off this transfer window in an excellent way for Newcastle.
Heaven knows they’re heading in the right direction under Howe, but they lacked goals under the English manager last season – particularly when Wilson was sidelined and Wood was considered to deliver.
It’s massively important to sign a striker but, if they can also add a different sort of attacker – even on loan – then happy days.
