Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale turned in a strong display on Saturday afternoon, helping beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor.

The Gunners beat Norwich City 1-0 last weekend, and repeated the trick by defeating Burnley 1-0, this time on the road.

Martin Odegaard’s first-half free kick was enough to win it for Arsenal, who battled away in the second half to preserve their clean sheet.

Ramsdale shines for Arsenal again

Ramsdale was given the nod over Bernd Leno against Norwich City, keeping a clean sheet in a strong display.

The summer signing from Sheffield United kept his place against Burnley and starred again.

With four claimed crosses and three saves, Ramsdale coped well with the aerial bombardment from Burnley.

Having arrived with many critics, Ramsdale is starting to prove his doubters wrong.

Green praises Ramsdale

Former England goalkeeper Robert Green worked on commentary of the game for NBCSN in America.

In the 83rd minute, Ransdale went up and comfortably claimed a Burnley corner. Sean Dyche’s men are known for their efficiency on crosses, but Ramsdale dealt with them well.

Taking the pressure off his defence was vital, and Ramsdale did it. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Ben White both immediately surrounded Ramsdale and commended him on claiming the cross.

Green praised Ramsdale for looking confident on crosses and competent with his feet.

Green added that it’s clear Arsenal players ‘love’ when Ramsdale claims crosses, spotting the reaction of his teammates.

“He’s looked confident, he’s looked assured with the ball at his feet,” said Green. “You see the reaction of his teammates there, you see how much it means to them. They love it when the goalkeeper comes when they’re under pressure against the big men of Burnley,” he added.
