Speaking on BT Sport’s coverage of Manchester City (27/2/20 12:15PM), Joe Cole shared what he noticed about West Ham’s players during the warm-up.
Cole was stood on a podium situated in the stands just above the pitch and while he was doing his pre-match analysis, he took a bit of time to watch the Hammers players warming up.
The former midfielder noted a couple of interesting things, claiming that the players looked happy and relaxed, while Michail Antonio was looking sharp, finishing the ball well.
“They looked relaxed which is one thing. I had a couple of the lads shouting nasty things at me,” Cole said.
“Can you name names please?” Jake Humphrey jokingly asked.
“Noble, but no, Antonio is finishing the ball well, they’re out here and having a good time, there’s smiles on their faces, which there should be if you’re West Ham.”

It’s interesting to hear how West Ham players looked so relaxed during the warm-up.
Heading to the Etihad to play against a record-breaking Manchester City team would usually be a nerve-wracking experience for most teams, but with the Hammers riding the crest of a wave heading into this game, they were confident and relaxed.
Their confidence showed in their performance as well, and while they didn’t manage to take any points away from Pep Guardiola’s side, they made a fantastic account of themselves and showed that they’re here to stay in this race for the Champions League spots.
