Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been speaking about Arsenal’s pursuit of a new striker after Dusan Vlahovic reportedly agreed a move to Juventus.
Vlahovic has long been touted as Arsenal’s top target, but sadly for the Gunners, it seems as though they will not be getting their man.
However, luckily for Arsenal, there is another striker out there who they rate equally as highly as the Serbian.
Indeed, Romano claims that the London club are enamoured with Alexander Isak, claiming that their interest in the Swede is on a par with their interest in Vlahovic.
What’s Romano said about Isak?
Romano shared what he knows.
“They will try to sign a striker they will try and try and try. They wanted Vlahovic since October, but now they are going to check out some other options. They were offered the chance to sign Luka Jovic on loan, but at the moment that isn’t the priority for either side, both the club and the player. Alexander Isak is one of the most appreciated players on their list. They love him, they literally love him. He’s at the same level of Vlahovic in terms of appreciation for Arsenal, but it will be difficult to sign this player in January as Real Sociedad are keen to keep this player until the end of the season,” Romano said.

How?
We don’t mean to be disrespectful to Alexander Isak, but how do Arsenal see him on the same level as Vlahovic?
Yes, he looked incredible at Euro 2020, and he scored plenty of goals last season, but this term, he’s not been at the races.
Isak has scored just four league goals this term, while Vlahovic has 17 to his name – there is quite an obvious gulf in class.
It remains to be seen whether or not Arsenal land Isak, but it sounds as though they have a strong interest in the Real Sociedad attacker.
