Reported Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Dominik Szoboszlai does indeed have admirers in the Premier League, Hungary assistant coach Giovanni Costantino told FC Inter News.

Red Bull Salzburg have already lost Erling Haaland, Takumi Minamino and Hwang Hee-Chan in the last 10 months or so and, with the January window just weeks away, the Austrian champions are bracing themselves for another key departure.

Head coach Jesse Marsch has already admitted that Szoboszlai is likely to go in the New Year (Futbol) while, according to sporting director Christoph Freund, a winter exit is a ‘high probability’ (Sky).

What is less certain, however, is where the 20-year-old Hungary international will end up.

Arsenal have been tracking Szoboszlai since 2019, with Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar on the lookout for a lock-picking midfielder capable of taking on the ‘Mesut Ozil’ role in a midfield short on cutting edge.

Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also part of a growing group of admirers in the Budapest-born set-piece specialist (90Min).

“Yes, they like him in Spain, England, Germany and Italy. Since you have named the Nerazzurri, I also confirm the interest on their part,” Costantino said, admitting Inter’s interest in a man who nearly joined AC Milan over the summer.

“He is a guy who can be the leader of our national team, but also of any club.

“In Italy we must have more courage with young people. Think about how much Dortmund paid for Erling Haaland. You have to believe (in young players), even if they don’t come from a top-level league.

“Dominik can make a difference in the European field. He has already proved it.”

Szoboszlai has a £23 million release clause in his contract and, according to the Mirror, a somewhat cash-strapped Arsenal side are hoping that Salzburg would allow them to pay that fee in instalments.

That feels like a rather high-risk strategy, however, given that there are plenty of other clubs who would happily hand over a bargain £23 million fee in one lump sum.
