Everton are willing to sell Sandro Ramirez for around £5 million this summer. But such a fee could make a permanent move to Real Valladolid impossible, the La Liga club’s sporting director Miguel Angel Gomez has told Cadena Ser.
With just one year remaining on his contract at Goodison Park, any hopes the Toffees might have had of making a profit on their former Spain U21 international have all-but disappeared.
Everton looked to have pulled off one hell of a coup when they snapped up Sandro from Malaga for a bargain £5 million back in the summer of 2017 but, three years on, it looks like they are set to sell the forgotten man of Merseyside for an almost identical sum.
The former Barcelona starlet made just eight goalless Premier League appearances under Ronald Koeman, and the chances of him being handed a fresh start under Carlo Ancelotti look slim, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison getting better all the time.
In an ideal world, Valladolid would love to keep Sandro around on a full-time basis. But, unless Everton drop their demands, this nomadic forward looks set to be on the move once again.
“Sandro belongs to Everton and they intend to sell him for around £5 million – figures that Real Valladolid cannot afford,” Gomez says in quotes translated by Pucella Fichajes.
“The boy is tremendously committed to the team, he is very happy here in Valladolid and managed to end his bad streak (of 52 games without a goal).
“He is happy here, but he belongs to another club and you have to respect that. The boy respects his contract and knows he has to go back (to Everton).”
It is worth remembering that, not so long ago, Sandro was one of the hottest forwards in La Liga. He hit 14 goals in 30 games for Malaga during a breakthrough 2016/17 season and then shone from the left-hand side as Spain reached the final of the U21 European Championships.
Even if that move to Everton didn’t exactly go to plan, do not rule out the prospect of Sandro taking a leaf out of Davy Klassen’s or Nikola Vlasic’s book by getting his career back on track elsewhere.
