Glenn Hoddle has claimed that Leeds United ‘haven’t’ changed under Jesse Marsch on the ball, as he noticed during their dramatic 2-1 win over Norwich City on Sunday at Elland Road, as he told Premier League Productions.
The former England playmaker added that Leeds are still playing with the same ‘energy levels’ as they did under Marcelo Bielsa and moving the ball ‘so quickly’.
Whilst many were critical of how the Whites would defend under Bielsa’s stewardship, no one can argue about what they used to do when motoring forward.
That was showcased with how Marsch’s men opened the scoring against Norwich, with Rodrigo, who was hooked off at half-time during the defeat against Aston Villa, opening the scoring.
The Elland Road faithful would have been sunk into their seats when they thought Norwich equalised through Kenny Mclean, only for Joe Gelhardt to score further into stoppage time.
Nonetheless, this is what Hoddle noticed about Leeds on the ball against Norwich City.
“They could have put this game to bed (in the first half), they get a fabulous goal, a bit of a deflection,” said Hoddle. “I think that was going down the goalkeeper’s throat.
“This game is about the chances they have missed. They could have been 3-0 up quite easily.
“When they have got the ball. They haven’t changed much, in the sense of their energy levels and they are playing so quickly.”

Marsch tasted two opening defeats against Leicester and Aston Villa – the last one, especially, would have hurt because of the manner of performance.
That would have put huge pressure on the whole team going into today’s game and what a response they provided.
Sometimes it’s those late dramatic winners that are the best and this will now change the whole mood around Yorkshire.
But Marsch will be well aware that it’s not over yet because Watford, who are below them in the table, beat Southampton today.
Although, Norwich, Burnley and Everton have all suffered defeats this weekend, alongside Newcastle United.
