Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared details of Arsenal’s pursuit of a right-back this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of players who can play in that position such as Tariq Lamptey and Achraf Hakimi, but Romano is now claiming that the Gunners have a list of players in that position as they look to step up their efforts.
“I can confirm that Arsenal are scouting him, they are following him closely,” Romano said about Lamptey.
“But just to clarify, at the moment there is nothing. It is just scouting the player. There is nothing close to an agreement with Brighton. There are no advanced negotiations.
“I can say that Arsenal want to sign a right-back, but they have a list. So, I expect a right-back on the market for Arsenal, but let’s see if it will be Lamptey or another one.”

The idea of Lamptey signing for Arsenal is of course mouth-watering, but the fact that the Gunners have a list of players is encouraging.
Edu and his recruitment team are clearly very keen to add a right-back this summer, and it seems as though they’ve already drawn up a number of plans on how to bolster that area.
With Hector Bellerin reportedly looking to leave, it’s no surprise to hear that the Gunners want a right-back, but it is positive news that they’re making plans early rather than leaving it late.
