Kevin Campbell says Tottenham fans have got ‘nothing’ in regards to taunting Arsenal supporters about Richarlison’s goals at the Qatar World Cup for Brazil, as he told the Highbury Squad.
The versatile Spurs player is playing ahead of Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus for Brazil and he proved why when he netted a brace during his side’s opening group win over Serbia.
Since then, Tite’s side have also beaten Switzerland – thanks to a goal from Casemiro – and they are now through to the knockout stages.
With Richarlison starting ahead of Jesus and also scoring the goals, according to Kevin Campbell, it seems as though Spurs fans have been getting a little giddy and he shared his reaction.
“There was a time when Gabriel Jesus was the number nine for Brazil,” said Campbell. “He was the man. He was scoring goals.
“The bottom line is that Richarlison has been doing the business when they needed him. Any fan base, especially your country, will endear you to them if you are doing the business for the national team.
“Scoring goals, playing well and being the difference-maker. Gabriel Jesus has just been going through a difficult time in front of goal. Not his all-round game. Not his touch
“But we are talking about young players here. They are young men, whose performances are going to go up and down. You look at the league form, it’s chalk and cheese. Richarlison can’t even get into Spurs’ team most of the time. Then it flips over with the national team.
“Think about it, what else have they got to talk about? They have got nothing else to talk about. They talk about ‘look at Richarlison’. They can’t even mention Spurs to us in the league. They got nothing.”

It has been 20 years since Brazil were world champions and for that talent-crazy footballing nation, that’s too long.
But this is their best chance in a long while, and so far, the pre-tournament favourites have made a stellar start.
Richarlison has done his business from the get-go, but he was subbed for Jesus during the last game and the Arsenal man’s qualities might become more important as the tournament progresses.
