‘They got booed’: Ian Wright claims Tottenham man ‘not bothered’ and sends transfer plea

Ian Wright has claimed that Antonio Conte is ‘not bothered’ about noise after he reacted to Tottenham Hotspur fans booing their players at halftime against Wolves over the weekend.

The former striker added that Conte ‘knows what he doing’, as he seemingly pleaded with Spurs to bring in a creative midfielder before the summer transfer window slams shut, as he told Wrighty’s House Podcast.

Tottenham only had one shot on target as they went in at the break against Wolves on Saturday, with the Midlands side being the much better team.

But, in the second half, the north London club turned things around by sealing all three points to maintain Conte’s unbeaten start to the new Premier League season.

Even though it’s three matches, Wright made it clear that Tottenham need to ‘enjoy it’, as he shared that creative spark is ‘really missing’ in the middle of the park.

“Enjoy it, as any fan, even Tottenham fans,” said Wright. “I know they got booed off at half-time, but in the end, they won 1-0.

“That’s what he (Conte) is doing (winning without being great). The thing with Conte is that he’s not bothered about the noise. He knows what he is doing.

“Did they try to get Christian Eriksen back? The only thing that is really missing is that creative midfielder from that team. Everything is going to go wide and into the box.”

SHOULD TOTTENHAM SIGN A CREATIVE MIDFIELDER?

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur are Tottenham’s two main guys in the middle of the park, with Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp as the back-up options.

All four of them are, first and foremost, defensive-minded midfielders, so should Conte add someone with a more attacking brain to his midfield?

Tottenham’s front three is lethal enough and creative enough to score the goals needed, especially when Harry Kane is dropping deep and making the ball talk.

But if that playmaker could be added to the club’s squad before next week’s deadline, then it would add another dimension to the team and make them more lethal going forward.
