Speaking on the Molineux View Podcast, Tim Spiers has shared Fosun’s view on the direction Wolves are headed.
Someone had written in to the podcast to say that they had heard that the owners were losing interest in the club, but Spiers made it clear that this simply wasn’t the case.
“In terms of Jeff’s interests and Fosun’s interests, absolutely not,” Spier said.
“From the conversations that I’ve had, they are very much looking to the long term for the whole club and the Wolves brand. It’s not just the first team anymore, it’s eSports, it’s fashion; they’re looking to build Wolves as an identity and a club over many years, ultimately, to make money.
“You can’t forget that when you’re thinking about anything in terms of transfers or anything, they’re here to make money and make this club profitable.
“So, there are lots of things to get used to. We’re not used to Wolves being run like this, but they firmly believe that they’re on the right track, in the long term, with everything that they’re doing.”
This is brilliant to hear if you’re a Wolves fan, as the owners clearly believe they’re heading in the right direction, despite a poor run of form on the pitch.
Fosun’s ownership of the club has taken the Midlands outfit to new heights, and while it’s understandable that there are fears within the fanbase that the bubble could burst, it seems as though there’s no danger of that happening.
Wolves may be on a bit of a slump right now, but behind the scenes they feel as though the long-term vision is still on the right track, and that’s what matters more than anything.
Wolves seem to be in safe hands, and it seems as though supporters have nothing to worry about when it comes to the ownership of the club.
