Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:48pm, January 23, 2023) that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are the only team in the Premier League so far this season who have not gone through a difficult period.

Conte made the unprompted remarks about Arsenal following Tottenham’s win against Fulham in the Premier League on Monday evening.

The Tottenham boss was asked after the London derby on Sky Sports about the difficult period he and his team are going through.

Conte replied: “It’s normal during the season every team (goes through a difficult period).

“Maybe in this season only Arsenal, they didn’t have a difficult period. They were out of the Carabao (Cup), I think, but otherwise they are all in competitions that they are playing.”

Compliment to the Gunners

As Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has noted, Arsenal have not really gone through a tough period.

And it is a compliment to the Gunners.

Yes, Arsenal did not do well in the Carabao Cup, but they could still win the FA Cup and are also in the UEFA Europa League.

And, more importantly, the Gunners are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment and could win the title this season.

Arsenal got the better of Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in the league this past weekend.

The way the Gunners played and scored a late goal to win the match against the Red Devils showed their mettle and hunger for success.

There is a lot of football to be played this season, and Arsenal should not get carried away, but the North London club should be confident and optimistic.
