Gary Neville told Super Sunday on Sky Sports that he is ‘not a great believer’ that Liverpool’s front three are ‘done’.
The Old Trafford legend has suggested that Liverpool ‘deserved’ a season where they were allowed to dip because of the performances they have put out in recent years.
A number of months ago, Liverpool were just managing to stay in the Premier League’s top seven, but they came at the last ten games like a steam train and remarkably finished off the campaign in third.
Even though there have been calls for Liverpool’s front three to be refreshed this summer, Neville doesn’t seem to agree with those claims.
“I am not a great believer in this fact that the front three are done,” said Neville. “I still think their performances at a really high level.
“They have performed at such a high level for so many years. Sprinting a million miles that team.
“They deserved a season where they just dipped a little bit. I have no problem with Liverpool dipping a little bit this season. Man City did it last season. No issue with it.
“Great teams do that every two or three years.”

Depth in quality is needed on Merseyside and Jurgen Klopp needs to be backed by those under-fire Liverpool owners.
Last summer, they should have brought in another centre-back after Dejan Lovren was injured and that backfired on them badly.
And come this summer, Klopp’s needs have to be met because if they aren’t then FSG, after the European Super League drama, will feel the wrath of their supporters even more.
