Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Reds announced some interesting news regarding Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
What’s the story?
Well, the Liverpool duo have been named in the Africa Cup of Nations Team of the 21st Century, after fans voted in an online poll.
Salah and Mane join the likes of Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure and Samuel Eto’o in the star-studded XI, in what is a great moment for the two.
Napoli’s colossal Kalidou Koulibaly is also in the XI.
There have been many incredible African players over the course of this century, so it’s quite special to see Salah and Mane named among the best eleven.
It comes after Salah scored 43 goals in 69 caps for Egypt, while also netting two goals for his country at the 2018 World Cup.
In Mane’s case, he has bagged 22 goals in 75 games for Senegal, leading his country alongside Koulibaly for the past decade.
Liverpool will lose Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane

Annoyingly for Jürgen Klopp, AFCON is back.
That means the German will be without his two superstars from January 9th to February 6th over the winter period.
Naby Keita is also expected to jet off with Guinea.
As a result, the trio will miss the clash with Brentford at Anfield, as well as the trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace.

Leicester arrive at Anfield on February 9th, so if one of Salah, Mane or Keita reach the final, that game may also come too soon for them.
Hopefully, AFCON can be moved to the summer one day – it causes major disruption for clubs mid-season.
For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the announcement on Salah and Mane…
