Speaking to Off The Ball, Stephen Hunt has shared what he’s been hearing about Tottenham’s training under Antonio Conte from some people he knows.

Hunt had a club and international career that spanned 17 years, so, as you can imagine, he has some contacts within the game, including at Tottenham.

Hunt says that he’s been getting some vibes from people he knows about Spurs training, claiming that the players can’t believe the levels they’re hitting in terms of their fitness.

What’s been said about Conte’s training?

Hunt shared what he’s been hearing from within the Tottenham camp.

“I’ve been getting some vibes, you know me too well. They’ve been working on their fitness for sure. Almost to an extent where they can’t believe the levels they’re getting to now in terms of how they’re going about it,” Hunt said.

“They are covering ground and they are going at it, maybe it’s tough on them, and it’s got to be done.”

Different class

These Tottenham players have worked under some brilliant managers, and even they can’t believe the level of fitness Conte has gotten them to.

It’s somewhat surprising to hear this to be honest. Mauricio Pochettino’s famous double-sessions surely would have been gruelling, and while Jose Mourinho famously doesn’t believe in running drills, his training on the ball is supposedly a brilliant substitute.

We don’t know exactly what Conte is doing, but if these players are a lot fitter now, Spurs will have a great chance of making the top four this term.
