Neil Warnock has claimed that Daniel Levy isn’t going to back Antonio Conte in the summer transfer market for Tottenham, as he told talkSPORT.

The former Premier League boss made it clear that Spurs ‘need backing’ but he can’t see Levy provding Conte with the money and players that he needs.

During the January transfer window, Spurs brought in two players, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, with Fabio Paratici signing them up from Juventus.

For some, the north London club needed more last month and Paratici dipping into the market of his former club wasn’t exactly ambitious.

Well, come the summer, Spurs will seriously need to make noise in the transfer market because it’s obvious how much change is needed to this side.

But Warnock doesn’t think Levy will provide the money that’s needed to bring in the quality and quantity of players that Conte will want.

“They need the backing,” said Warnock. “I am not sure Daniel will put his hand in that much to get the players that they needed really.

“He needs three or four players. I can’t see Daniel Levy giving him the money Conte needs because he’s used to signing world-class players. They aren’t going to get them for £30-40 million.”

This is what will worry Spurs fans is that they have the coach and several players that can take them forward, but the Italian won’t be backed in the market.

Serious investment is needed and Levy needs to use the pulling power of Conte to lure some of the best talents towards their direction.

Securing Champions League football will help, if that doesn’t happen, then the life of those in the Spurs boardroom will be that bit tougher.

Either way, these next six months, including the summer coming ahead, is very crucial to the club’s long term goals.
