Antonio Rudiger told Sky Sports that Aston Villa duo Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa have been doing ‘very well’ this season.
The Chelsea defender was listing defenders who have impressed him this season, as he named Villa’s underrated duo, alongside the ‘standouts’ Ruben Dias and John Stones from Manchester City.
Villa have kept a remarkable 14 clean sheets this season after struggling to even keep the ball out of the back of their net on their travels during the previous campaign.
Nonetheless, this is what Rudiger had to say about some of his fellow centre-backs in the Premier League today.
“Right now, for me, the two that really stand out, you have to give them credit, is Ruben Dias and John Stones,” said Rudiger.
“You have to give credit to them because, at the moment, they are, for me, the best.
“But there are a lot. You also have Harry Maguire. Also, for me, Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa. They are doing very well.”

One of Villa’s back four, Mings, is an England international and has once again been rewarded for his performances.
But many Villa fans feel that his partner in crime has outperformed him and also deserves that call from Gareth Southgate.
Whilst that didn’t come on Thursday, Konsa just needs to keep plugging away because his performances will be recognised sooner rather than later.
