Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Arsenal’s summer transfer activity, namely the signing of Martin Odegaard.
Going into the summer window, Arsenal knew they needed a creative midfielder, and they ended up signing the Norwegian towards the end of the window for a fee of €35m (£30m).
However, Arsenal believe they got an absolute bargain here, as Romano says that the club are convinced that Odegaard could be worth double what they paid for him last month.
What’s been said?
Romano was discussing Arsenal’s recent business.
“Congrats to Arsenal, they are really happy with Odegaard, the strategy was perfect. They are convinced that they spent €35m, but they think the player will be worth double in some months. They are also really happy with Takehiro Tomiyasu, a good impact and a good professional,” Romano said.

Could be a bargain
At €35m, Odegaard could end up being an absolute bargain for Arsenal.
The midfielder is only 23 years old, so he has a lot of room to grow, and you only have to look at his performances for Real Sociedad a few years ago to see how good he can be.
Odegaard could end up being worth a lot more than the Gunners paid for him, and he’s already showing his ability in north London, netting the winning goal for his new side over the weekend against Burnley.
Edu may have made a few shocking signings at Arsenal in recent years, but bringing in Odegaard looks to be a good piece of business for the Gunners.
