Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Tottenham and how they feel about Cristian Romero after his arrival in the summer.
Spurs have had something of a topsy-turvy season so far with many of their players being rather inconsistent throughout the opening weeks of this campaign.
However, one player who has been a solid performer for the London club is Romero and the club are very happy with the Argentine.
Indeed, Romano says that Tottenham are convinced that Romero will be a brilliant centre-half for years to come, stating that the club are very excited about this signing.
What’s been said?
Romano shared what he knows about Spurs’ view of Romero.
“Talking Tottenham, I just want to say about Nuno, they are going along with him of course. And the situation of Cuti Romero, in Tottenham, they are really thinking they signed a top centre-back, they wanted him strongly, they had the chance to sign Tomiyasu, signing Milenkovic, signing Zouma. They wanted Romero, Paratici wanted him and he’s performing well also with Argentina. In Tottenham they are convinced they have a centre-back for the present and the future, so they are really excited with this signing,” Romano said.

Paratici masterclass
We could be looking at one of the best signings Fabio Paratici makes at Tottenham with Romero.
Yes, he’s still adjusting to the Premier League, but you can already see the quality he has.
The Argentine does need to learn to not be so brash. After all, Eric Dier gave him an earful for being too aggressive this weekend, but in terms of ability, he’s right up there with the best centre-backs Spurs have had.
Tottenham are excited about Romero and they have every right to be.
