Phil McNulty told BBC Sport how Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and Manchester City defender Kyle Walker ‘always seemed to have a lot to say to each other’ in Warsaw on Wednesday night.

England recorded a 1-1 draw against Poland in their World Cup qualifier and the BBC reporter shared how there were constant exchanges between the Everton and Man City duo.

Up until the death, the away side had control of proceedings, without really putting a cushion between themselves and the hosts.

Harry Kane’s thunderous long-range effort put the Three Lions ahead, but a stoppage-time header meant that both teams shared the spoils.

McNulty shared that the conversation between Walker and Pickford was ‘civilised’, but he did report that it did seem to happen a lot.

“England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and defender Kyle Walker always seem to be in dialogue,” said McNulty

“All (well nearly all) seems very civilised but they always seem to have a lot to say to each other.”

One moment of near-madness from Pickford nearly resulted in a mistake and goal, but in the end, he saved his own blushes.

When it comes to international football, Pickford is different gravy, he is calmer, vocally strong, as proven by his constant communication with Walker and producing error-free performances.

Whilst many will continue to question the Everton man on the domestic stage, when it comes to international football, he has been one of the best for many years now.

And even though he was questioned once again over the summer, he still stuck his chest out and proved his worth at Euro 2020.
