Brendan Rodgers has suggested that he could allow some players to leave Celtic in the January transfer window.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested to The Express that some players will leave the club in the January transfer window.
Rodgers has revealed that he likes to work with a small group of players, suggesting that some fringe players could leave.
“I like a small group to work with,” the former Liverpool manager told The Express. “I inherited 29 when I came in, but my preference is a smaller group so everyone in it feels they are close.”

Rodgers’s comments could be a concern for a few Celtic players who are struggling at the moment.
Defenders Emilio Izaguirre and Efe Ambrose have not been consistently on top of their game, and perhaps the duo could depart Celtic Park – if not in the January transfer window, then perhaps at the end of the season.
Izaguirre’s form, though has improved under Rodgers, and maybe he could get a new contract.

Patrick Roberts is scheduled to return to his parent club Manchester City at the end of the season.
According to The Express, Spanish club Espanyol are interested in signing 25-year-old defensive midfielder Nir Bitton in the January transfer window, while goalkeeper Logan Bailly is reportedly on the radar of Italian side Palermo and Dedryck Boyata is claimed to be a target of Anderlecht.
The Express has also reported that forward Nadir Ciftci has been told that he can leave, while 18-year-old midfielder Kristoffer Ajer could be sent out on loan.
