Kevin Campbell has stated on Twitter that he wants Arsenal to sign Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma to replace Granit Xhaka.
The Sky Sports pundit was pretty blunt and to-the-point in how he feels about Xhaka playing in Arsenal’s midfield.
With Thomas Partey joining Arsenal in the summer, he has added a much-needed freshness and athleticism to the club’s midfield.
And whilst Partey doesn’t stack up his numbers, in terms of goals or assists, he does seemingly provide that energy for Arsenal.
That’s something Highbury legend, Campbell, thinks Xhaka doesn’t provide, as he stated that it’s ‘facts’ that he doesn’t score, assist or dominate the middle of the park.
Xhaka is always going to divide opinion and he has done just that since he moved to Arsenal for £30 million in 2016 (Sky Sports).
Arsenal’s demise started long before he walked through the doors, and whilst the situation has become much worse, he does get a lot of stick for their problems.
But it’s pretty clear that Mikel Arteta is a fan of the combative midfielder and it’s a decision he will have to die by if Arsenal don’t progress further during these next 12 months.
