Bobby Zamora has claimed that ‘there’s something wrong’ with Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs were thumped 3-0 by Chelsea in North London this past weekend, the second week in a row where Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have lost by that scoreline after Crystal Palace hammered them a week earlier.

Kane hasn’t scored in any of his four Premier League games this season which, for a player of his talent, is a major concern.

This was always going to be a difficult season for the 28-year-old after controversially trying to secure a summer move to Manchester City, before ultimately deciding to stay with Nuno.

But the form is a worry and so too is the fact that he doesn’t seem to be getting too many chances.

Against Chelsea, the Tottenham hitman, who won the Golden Boot last term, was spotted dropping very deep – perhaps too deep for a centre forward and never really looked a threat in the areas where Spurs fans want him to be in.

And former Tottenham striker Zamora has told Stadium Astro that something isn’t quite right, suggesting that the player is ‘gutted’ that he missed his move to leave the club.

He said: “There’s something wrong with Kane and Spurs at the minute, whether that’s to do with the summer, I don’t think we’ll really know. But something’s not right and I think that shows with Harry Kane. I think he’s getting so frustrated. Maybe he’s starting to get a little bit gutted that he hasn’t won a trophy.”

Slow starter?

Worrisome as this is, there have been previous years where Kane hasn’t started the Premier League season like a bat out of hell.

You’d hesitate to call him a slow starter, but there has been years here and there when he has needed a couple of months to warm up and when he does, watch out.

That being said, this feels a little different.

Because of what happened in the summer, this feels a little like a different story on this occasion and time will tell whether Kane can show England why he’s such a talented goalscorer in these colours.
