Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT that Arsenal defender Ben White should be in the latest England squad.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes that Arsenal defender White has been wronged not to be included in the England squad for their upcoming matches against Italy and Ukraine.

England head coach Gareth Southgate has not included White in his squad.

The former Leeds United loanee is a central defender by trade, but the £50 million (Sky Sports) star has been playing at right-back for Arsenal this season.

And he has been brilliant, as Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table.

Bent thinks that something has happened that has prevented Southgate from picking the 25-year-old in his squad.

As reported by The Sun, White left the England camp at the 2022 Qatar World Cup for personal reasons.

The Daily Star reported an alleged issue between White and England assistant manager Steve Holland.

Darren Bent on Arsenal defender Ben White omission from England squad

Bent said: “No Ben White. That’s the problem. Obviously there’re rumours circulating about why he left the World Cup squad, but if you look at the form, there is definitely got to be in the squad. 100%. There must be (a problem).”

The pundit added: “He should be in the squad, but clearly something has happened which is why he is not in the England squad. Very strange.”

HITC Verdict: Disappointing

In our view, it is really disappointing for Arsenal defender Ben White that he is not in the latest England squad.

The 25-year-old has been truly brilliant for Arsenal this season, and we believe that he would have made the England squad better.

White has become an expert at playing centre-back and at right-back.

That is two players in one.
