Wilks scored 16 goals on loan last season, rising to the challenge put in front of him to become a star at a promotion chasing side.
He is a player with real potential, sharp in front of goal and has tricks at his feet. This is a talent Marcelo Bielsa can surely mould into a top star?
Selling him to a division rival would be a mistake. Especially without seeing Wilks play at Championship level.
There is only one deal Leeds should consider, and that’s a loan deal with a break clause in January if Leeds need him.
The Whites may consider that there is no room for Wilks in their XI, or on the bench on a weekly basis.
But that doesn’t mean they should sell him now. If he stars in the Championship his value will only rise.
