Celtic should give Daniel Arzani a chance.

Daniel Arzani of Australia trains during an Australia Socceroos training session at Stadium Trudovye Rezervy on June 17, 2018 in Kazan, Russia.

This week Celtic have had to rebuff rumours that Daniel Arzani’s loan spell could be cancelled.

The 19-year-old is on loan from Manchester City after clinching his move to the English champions in the summer.

Arzani featured at the World Cup in the summer for Australia and was the youngest player to feature at the tournament.

He is yet to play for Celtic’s first team, leading to speculation from The World Game that Arzani’s loan stint could be cancelled if he does not play for the club by December.

Celtic have since moved to deny the rumours, with the Evening Times claiming there is no chance of his being the case.

There is one way for Celtic to make the rumours go away, and it’s remarkably simple: Play him.

Arzani played for Australia again this week, getting some much needed game time under his belt.

Celtic have at times looked like a side lacking their usual inspiration this season and promotion the exciting Arzani would give the team and fanbase a lift.

Brendan Rodgers does not need to start him initially, but give him some minutes off the bench.

If he clearly isn’t up to it, then Celtic’s apparent reservations will be more understandable to supporters and those with an outside interest in the situation.
